Good morning/Good afternoon/Good evening my friends out
there! This is 11:00pm. 14th May, 2013, Tuesday in India. Hope you
all are doing well! I’m trying to be fine with an excessive hot weather!!
Friends, we know that the month May always come with a lots
of festivals and significant days. Tomorrow is another day that we can celebrate
as the ‘International Family Day’. What is this? I am going to share my small
knowledge about it.
International Day of the Families is
celebrated on 15 May on the global platform. This day has been celebrated as
International Day of the Families since 1995. The year
1994 was declared as International year of families by
United Nations. It is celebrated every year to create awareness about the
importance of families among people in modern times. These days, people are
switching more towards solitary and independent mode of lifestyle and are
rather moving away from the beautiful institution of society called
“Family".
Various programs are organized all over the world to commemorate the day by planning different workshops, seminars and policy
meetings for public officials and exhibitions. All
programs are supported by United Nations - Division for Social
Policy and Development. Different campaigns are also launched on
International Day of Families to fortify and support family units. Last Sunday, 12th May we
have celebrated a very special day – ‘Mother’s Day’! I will say about my
thoughts and emotions about the day in my next post. Please keep in touch and
keep watching my blogs.
Good bye for
a moment. Take very care of
your family and children! Have a good day/ afternoon/evening/night! Namaskar.
