Good
morning/Good afternoon/Good evening my friends, wherever you are! This 11:00pm.
6thth March, 2013, Wednesday in India and I'm here with my feelings, thoughts and dreams to share with you!
Friends,
on the day after tomorrow (8th March) is International
Women's Day. Being a woman, I usually celebrate the day; better say, my husband
pamper me with all on that day! This year, I’m very much unhappy and don’t want
to celebrate the day! I want to ask a question to all of you? Are the women
really happy in the world? Are we get as much respect, we deserve? I think, in
India, there is a big contradictory about it! In India, women are compared with
Goddess ‘Durga’, the eternal mother, the symbol of power; whereas, in many villages,
women are killed for ‘Dowry’! Many parents abort their child because of female
gender! Before 3 months of the International Women's Day, 16th December, 2012; in the capital-city Delhi, a
23-year-old girl (physiotherapy intern) was beaten and gang raped in a bus in
which she was travelling with her male companion. The girl died from her
injuries thirteen days later while undergoing emergency treatment in Singapore.
Not only that, after 2days of this incident, there was a repetition of the
story play in the same city! Luckily, the victim is alive here! Friends, is that the
so called Modern age? Is this the civilization? Are the people civilized, cultured
who create this type of situations?
The UN declares an International Women's Day theme for 2013.
It is “A promise is a promise: Time for action to end violence against women”.
Yes; this the time to action! I think, this is the time for the all women to
prove the spark that we have! We are WOMEN. We are
Mother, Daughter, Wife, Sister. We are a Person. We are Strong, Smart, Crafty. We
are Passionate, Courageous, Generous. We are Action, Emotion, Devotion. We have
Hope, Beauty, Power. We have a Brain and we know how to use it. We Give You
LIFE. We give you RESPECT, LOVE, GRATITUDE. We believe in you. We will nurture
you, fight for you. And, we deserve nothing less from you.
Friends, the International Women’s Day,
celebrated on 8th March, is a universal day for all women around the world. It
endows them with a sense of honor, dignity and self respect for being the
person that they are. This day marks a celebration of the economic, social,
cultural and political achievements made by women over the years. Before the
day, I request to all in the world, please think about the women by heart. A
woman’s essence lies in her innate ability to care, love and sacrifice for the
other. She plays an all-enveloping character of a mother, daughter, wife and
sister as a friend, nurturer, guide and partner from time to time. Emotional
and vulnerable, sometimes erratic, sometimes serene, she displays a wonderful
range of emotions from being patient to being extremely courageous in times of
crisis! So please, be kind to women for your own sake!
That’s all for
today! Take care of your families and yourselves! Have a good
day/ afternoon/evening/night! Namaskar.
